Emeji, whose address is unknown, is facing a charge of indecent treatment of a child, but he pleaded not guilty.
However, police prosecutor, Inspector Rita Momoh, said the accused committed the offence sometime in November 2014 at Jaja Hall toilet of the University of Lagos, Akoka.
She said the accused tricked the nine-year-old into one of the toilets in the hall, where he sucked his genitals.
She said: “Police had been on the lookout for the accused, following a report by the boy’s parents. The accused was only apprehended recently after he was seen roaming the university aimlessly.”
Momoh noted that the offence contravened Section 135 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 and carries a penalty of seven years jail term.
Chief Magistrate P. A. Adeeyo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to October 12 for substantive trial.
