Statement by President Jonathan on presidential election 2015

Official statement by president Jonathan after the announcement of the results of presidential election

Fellow Nigerians,
I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the March 28 General Elections.
I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word. I have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure.
Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress.

Read Prof. Jega's epic response to Orubebe this morning

After PDP party agent Godsday Orubebe created an embarrassing scene at the collation centre in Abuja this morning, trying to disrupt announcement of results (read here) a very calm Jega told him;
"Mr Orubebe, you are a former Minister of the federal republic .You are a statesman in your own right. You should be careful about what you say or what allegations or accusations you make. Certainly you should be careful about your public conduct"
Jega's response to Orubebe has been hailed as mature. In fact, there's a meaning for 'Jega' now. It means 'To be inexplicably chilled in the midst of stupidity or conflict". lol. Prof Jega's full response after the cut

Man cuts open giant snake's belly & you won't believe what he saw inside

This man and his friends discovered a giant snake with hugely swollen stomach in the bushes and decided to cut the belly open to see what was inside the snake. What they saw left them shocked. It was another giant reptile. The snake's last meal had actually been another huge snake, both nearly identical in size. The man pulled the second snake out of the body of the first one and laid them both on the ground next to each other. See the photos after the cut...

This photo was removed by instagram. The owner writes a powerful open letter in response

Indian student Rupi Kaur, a Sikh poet studying at the University of Waterloo, Canada, posted an image which is a part of her photo-series project for a visual rhetoric course on Instagram. It was subsequently taken down by Instagram citing violation of the 'Community Guidelines'. That's the pic above.

Looking at the photo, you will understand why it was taken down. The patch of menstrual blood on the sheets and the sweats were probably not to their taste. However, Rupi decided to re-post the photo and wrote a powerful open letter.
